On Saturday 18-Feb-2017, a great 90th birthday celebration was held for Elder Dr. Samuel L. Kendrick, Sr.
Eld Kendrick is one of our beloved retired pastors. Family and well-wishers from Michigan, Mississippi and from all over the Eastern Diocese gathered to wish our friend Happy Birthday. Eld Kendrick has given unselfish labor of faithful and tireless service over the years and for most of his life.
He served as pastor of the following churches:
Lord’s Tabernacle COCHUSA Salem, AL, Christ Temple Seattle, WA, Morning Star COCHUSA Yakima, WA, organized and built Christ Temple Inkster, MI and pastored First Church Washington DC for 34 years.
He also served as the Northern District Chairman of the Eastern Diocese for 33 years. He was the founder of the Eastern Diocese Youth Conference and it will celebrate its 49th year in existent this March with an annual attendance of over 500 people. Eld Kendrick also served as the Nat’l Sunday School and HYPU Congress Vice-President, member of the Board of Education and a Nat’l Evangelist. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from the University of Maryland in 1998!
