2013 is swiftly approaching. As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Kerry J. Allen (KJA) Scholarship Board wishes to ask each of our local churches and youth ministries to help us this Holiday season and coming year to raise funds which will assist our current recipients and those students planning to attend college in the fall of 2013.
Each year KJA Scholarship Board is given the task of raising funds for the scholarship. This is done through initiatives such as the Annual Golf Classic, Silent Auctions, individual and Board member contributions and the Bowling Tournament. Once again, we are asking you to assist us through your Local, District and/or Diocese Bowling tournaments. We ask that you solicit family members, friends, church members and/or businesses to sponsor you or another bowler. They may sponsor individual games, frames played per person or by total score achieved. For example: if the sponsor donates $.10/pin knocked down and you knock down 100 pins, the sponsor’s donation would be $10.00. It’s as simple as that.
Bowling is not just for young people but an activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Your local ministries (Brotherhood, UCWM) or even local sister churches can compete against each other for added fun. It is a time of fellowship as well as an opportunity to help our young people achieve educational endeavors. As of 2012, KJA Scholarship has granted over $150,000 in scholarships. We have been blessed thus far to meet the needs and we solicit your prayers and assistance in meeting the needs once again. The KJA Scholarship board wishes each of you a most blessed and merry Christmas and a joyful and prosperous New Year. We thank each of you for all that you have done throughout the year to assist us in making this Scholarship a success.
